Runway cross winds: SW winds >15kts. Gusty NW winds (>20kts) produce rotor-like turbulence.
HKG:
Winds from 090-220 degrees can produce wind shear and turbulence. (Most likely 120-150 degrees).
PUS:
Landing restrictions: Southerly winds >10kts, CIGS <=1500, VIS <=8000 meters (5 miles).

  • Look for NE sfc flow into SYD during the day bringing higher dewpoints into area. From Jun-Aug look for dewpoints at or above 10°C. From Apr-May look for dewpoints at or above 15°C.
  • Look for solid fog at YSRI (Richmond) by 14Z, which could advect into SYD from the west.
  • Check for RH readings at or above 90% 12Z-18Z (02-05 AEDT) over SYD and on coast (BOM RH Map)
