Damage PathsThis graphic shows the paths of the strongest tornadoes to hit the area. "Backbuilding" supercells were responsible for dropping the numerous tornadoes.Temperatures that day were in the upper 70's with high dewpoints, which is unusual for early May in Minnesota. A strong upper level system moving in from the southwest and a nearby, slow-moving cold front helped spark the storms. |
