This website is designed as a web portal for meteorologists at Northwest Airlines. Its main purpose is to provide an organized list of links to websites considered useful for forecasting and monitoring aviation weather. This website is an ongoing project and will involve frequent changes as links are added and deleted.
The home page is designed to include links used very frequently by the surface and upper air meteorologists. By placing these links on the front page you will have immediate access to them without having to go to yet another page to get to those links. If you have comments or suggestions concerning the links on the home page, please contact us.
The Main Menu allows for easy access to the rest of the website and has been organized to include links used by each of the forecasting desks in the office. In addition, special pages for volcano links and miscellaneous links have been included. Once again, the links Eric and I have placed on these pages are certainly not written in stone and you are incouraged to email us from the CONTACT US page with your comments and suggestions for links. Eric and I will check our email frequently and make changes as soon as possible.
You will also notice there is a NEWS section on the Main Menu. The News page will be used to make major announcements concerning the website, including the addition of new links that are especially important and useful.
This website is now being hosted at soc.nwa.com, which is on the SOC intranet server. I have also be created a "shadow" website at http://www.lattery.com/nwametro, so you can have access to the portal from any computer with an internet connection. I will do my best to keep this shadow website up-to-date with the primary website.
